Private equity firm General Atlantic LLC agreed to pay 1.2 billion reais ($561.8 million) for a 30 percent stake in Brazilian brokerage XP Investimentos CCTVM SA, Veja reported, without saying where it got the information.
Guilherme Benchimol and Marcelo Maisonnave remain as controlling shareholders, Veja said.

Erickson Air-Crane Incorporated, a leading operator and the manufacturer of the powerful heavy-lift helicopter, the Erickson S-64 Aircrane, has entered into a non-binding letter of intent to acquire 14 helicopters and associated personnel and assets from HRT Participacoes em Petroleo, S.A. (HRT).
The letter of intent is non-binding and, for the acquisition to be completed, requires that EAC provide operational services to HRT in the Amazon, including both cargo and passenger transport, through a three-year, renewable contract.

– German drugs distributor Celesio may seek to make further acquisitions from 2014 after taking time out on purchases next year, Welt am Sonntag reported, citing its chief executive.
“Following the acquisition of Oncoprod and Panpharma in Brazil, we’re now first of all focused on integrating those companies and positioning them more effectively in strategic terms,” the newspaper quoted Markus Pinger as saying in an interview published on Sunday.
“We’re scouring interesting regions, for example in Latin America, Asia but also in Europe,” Pinger told Welt am Sonntag.
Europe’s largest drugs distributor may be able to keep boosting profit next year because the company is not greatly exposed to the region’s crisis-ridden southern economies, the CEO said, although he cautioned that 2013 “won’t be easy.” (Reporting by Andreas Cremer; Editing by Helen Massy-Beresford)

São Paulo – O Google investiu cerca de 17 milhões de dólares em uma startup canadense chamada Bufferbox. Relativamente nova no mercado, com apenas dois anos de atuação, ela está relacionada ao comércio online, o que levanta mais suspeitas de que o Google deve entrar nesse nicho em breve.

São Paulo – A Delta Air Lines, segunda maior companhia aérea do mundo, pode comprar 49% da Virgin Atlantic Airways, empresa aérea britânica fundada por Richard Branson. As informações são do The Wall Street Journal, desta segunda-feira.
De acordo com a reportagem, a Delta estaria negociando com a Singapore Airlines – que já considerou vender sua parte no negócio.
FRANKFURT – A seguradora Allianz planeja comprar a Provinzial Nordwest Holding, seguradora cujos donos são bancos alemães do setor público. A informação foi divulgada no Financial Times Deutschland, sem citar fontes.
Segundo o jornal, a Allianz ofereceu 2,25 bilhões de euros (cerca de US$ 2,91 bilhão), o equivalente ao valor de mercado da Provinzial. O executivo-chefe da Allianz, Michael Diekmann, encontrou-se com os três donos da seguradora alemã para discutir a oferta.
O jornal informou que a participação da Allianz no mercado alemão está estagnada ou em declínio, o que tem levado a empresa a fazer aquisições no país. A última vez que isso ocorreu foi em 1994, quando comprou a seguradora Vereinte. Os porta-vozes de ambas as empresas se recusaram a comentar a reportagem. As informações são da Dow Jones.
